Update: Another Applicant for Nevada Online Poker License, Lipparelli Leaves NGCB

This week the state of Nevada recorded a new applicant for its online poker license – Vintage Vegas Gaming, which has applied for licensing as an operator, service provider and manufacturer, with its proprietary software.

The venue has a long-standing reputation; it owns one of the first World Series of Poker venues, Binions in Las Vegas, a brand which will surely help it build its reputation in the online poker world as well.

In related news, a report arrived that the reputable chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board, Mark Lipparelli (47) has filed his resignation to the position ‘for personal reasons’, effective the end September.

His contract expired back in December 2011, but this former Shuffle Master and Bally Technologies executive remained on board to lead this body towards a crucial development for the Nevada gambling – the legalisation of intrastate online poker, and the consequent development of ‘gold standard’ requirements for operators, along with licensing and regulatory provisions.

At present, nothing is known about Lipparelli’s plans for the future, but in terms of his contract as a regulator, he cannot work for a gambling company in the industry for a period of one year. Also, the name of his successor has not been announced yet.
