WPT Malta Goes to French Pro

This week saw the end of the World Poker Tour Malta tourney, which was taken down by French poker pro Yorane Kerignard.

The Frenchman outplayed an entry field of 168 players, beating them to the Euro 120,000 main prize and a seat at the WPT World Championship worth $25,500.

At the final table, Kerignard faced Jackson Genovesi, Alessio Isaia, Hui Chen Kuo, Zeljko Krizan and Sampo Ryynanen, of whom Genovesi turned out to be the toughest nut to break.

However, Kerignard showed remarkable skill during the heads-up, eventually sending home Genovesi with a second placing paycheck to Euro 82,370.
